I have always wanted to host a ‘proper’ tea party and with the sun shining, our house ‘getting there’ and conveniently my Birthday weekend, it was the perfect opportunity to have it in our ‘wild’ garden which people have started referring to it as a secret garden, so with a little help from our friend’s at Splendid Occasions and family, we did it!
We had 22 people at the party and nowhere near enough tables and chairs so we hired these lovely neutral metal bistro chairs as well as some of their trestle tables to create one large table from Splendid Occasions in Horsham which looked fantastic. I’ve got some family china which I use occasionally for craft workshops but also hired some of the china tea sets and large plates as well as this gorgeous glass cake stand from Splendid too.
Everything looked lovely and everyone commented on how it all looked and tasted (special mention to my cousin Fran for her amazing sandwich making skills, my cousin Grace and my husband Steve for their delicious homemade lemonade and my mum’s business Pebbles Catering, for the scrummy cheese straws and mini scones as well as the endless helpers for washing up!) I even managed to cut some of the remaining hydrangeas from the garden and display in one of Make, Do & Trend’s gold kilner jars.
At least we had glorious weather for it, unlike today!
